As the Environmental and Safety Focal Person, I urge all students, faculty, and staff to recognize that maintaining a safe, inclusive, and sustainable campus is a shared responsibility. Improper handling of e-waste and hazardous waste can lead to serious health risks, environmental pollution, and safety hazards.
Equally important are our social safeguard responsibilities. Issues such as gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, discrimination, and unsafe behavior pose significant threats to a healthy academic environment. Ensuring a campus culture built on dignity, respect, and equality is the duty of every member of our institution.
Every individual plays a vital role in ensuring that waste is properly segregated, safely stored, and responsibly disposed of. By adopting safe practices, embracing the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and upholding mutual respect and responsible conduct, we not only comply with institutional standards but also contribute to protecting human health, safety, and social well-being.
Goal:
To promote a safe, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable academic environment by strengthening environmental, safety, and social safeguard practices within the institution.
• To ensure the proper segregation, handling, storage, and disposal of e-waste and hazardous waste.
• To minimize health risks, environmental pollution, and safety hazards associated with improper waste management.
• To promote awareness and adoption of sustainable practices based on the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
• To foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus culture free from gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, discrimination, and unsafe behavior.
• To enhance individual and collective responsibility toward environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and social well-being.
• To strengthen compliance with institutional environmental, safety, and social safeguard standards.
